Golfing

My brother James came in town last weekend and while he was here my dad took us all golfing at Hidden Valley. As of last year I have picked up this little hobby and really like it (when I'm actually playing decent). This was my first game this year and I wasn't quite ready for 18 holes. Lets just say my best hole was a bogey on a par 3- that being said, I was pretty proud of myself, but I got tired by about the 14th hole and called it a night. I can drive the ball pretty well and my putting game seems to be based on luck, but I am terrible when it comes to using my irons, but hey it's a work in process! The boys however, all played well and it was a really fun day/ night (since it took us about 4 hours)!

Scott can drive the ball so far!

Zach will tell you, taking this picture distracted him. I've still got a lot to learn about golfing etiquette!

I kind of hate the dress code at Hidden...

I promise this is a practice swing, though I have been known to miss the ball.

It was such a pretty night and the weather was perfect!

Newport

We spent last week with Zach's family in Newport. We had so much fun and it was a much needed vacation! Unfortunately, the weather was gloomy and the wind made it a little cold, but we were just happy to get away and have nothing to worry about. We'd usually wake up and take a bike ride over to Balboa, or wherever and then we'd suit up and head to the beach. As you can see from the pictures I wasn't exactly prepared for the cold weather so I wore the same hoodie basically everyday. At night we played card games or watched episodes of Arrested Development. We loved every minute of it and are so thankful to Joe and Stacey for taking us on such a fun trip!!

You can tell from our faces that it's morning

Father's Day Weekend

Our Father's Day weekend was spent up at the Barton's cabin in Kamas with our friends. It was fun to get together with everyone before the Barton's head off to Florida this coming August for medical school. It also gave us the chance to bond a little more with sweet baby Jane. We sure will miss you guys!

I was going through some old emails the other day and started laughing when I came across this one from 2008. So, sorry if you have already read this…

Starbursts are definitely one of my favorite, non-chocolate, candies! I love it when they come out with new flavors. There have been some disappointments though and unfortunately, every package includes a nasty cherry or fruit punch flavor. Anyway, meet the newest addition to the Starburst family.....

Sweet Fiesta

Flavors include: melon berry, strawberry pineapple, peach guava, and cherry mango

It's a good one! If you're wondering why I'd write a post about Starbursts, you should just know, sometimes it's about the small things in life!
